making these remark is important, but achieving it, is the most important aspect, this story is not new in liberia

all our past leaders said the same thing but non of them ever achieved this dream,

as a liberian,i believe our government must set buget a side for agriculture, this amount can be invested in the agriculture sector, our government must provide farming equipment as loan, than the farmer either pay the loan with potion of their hervest, and our government can also purchase machine to process the verious crops to finish product and place on the liberian market, huge quantity can also be ship abroad to add value to our farmer,

it,s the responsibility of government to create ideal that will benefit the vast majority of it,s people, for example if our government can invest 50million on agriculture annually to create food sufficiency,if manage well government will not loose, food is very much important to the growth of any nation only a wise leader know. bob marley once said that a hungry man is an angry man,and a adol minded person can easily be used by evil people, all the money we spend on importing food,if spend on road construction and e.t.c, if our leader where serious and implament this little advice liberia will be a better place and well developed to international stander, why must we continue to import things that we can produce locally, we must save money for other advince project,a lot of country in this world have no natural resource but they are richer and more develop and advince than us,because they invest in agricture and there is sufficient food to eat and export take for instance thailand, have no resource but they depend only on agriculture, and they are richer than us,in liberia our resource is not manage well, and the majority of our so-call leaders don,t have interest in liberia, that is the reason we are not moving forward in term of development.

You hit the nail on the head in most of your statements. But sometimes, it more complicated than that; it's just might be people in charge who have no idea what needs to be done. Of course, if you don't know what needs to be done, you will probably do the wrong thing or do nothing at all. One thing I always remembered as a child in Lofa was how far away family traveled each year to farm. The farming technique, “slash and burn”, caused the land to lie barren for seven years, I think. Each year, they traveled farther to find fertile land using up valuable work time in the process; each year they encroached on another village or tribe’s land. What if they could actually could farm the same land every other year, at least, and someone actually taught the how to do this and produce higher yield? I am not an expert in agriculture, my views are based purely on observation, but do you see what I am going with this? These are things that may already in the works or have been tried and failed, who knows.

I see,Boakai want the people to go back to the soil with their bare hands-maybe use their claws as farmings tools and incentives.

Our so-called leaders never cease to amize us. They are in Monrovia passing out any assistance meant for farmers to only people they know( family and friends ) and then come out making empty statements for people to go back to the soil.God help us!When will these people learn to be real and practical?
