Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has welcomed the signing of a decree setting up a transitional government in Mauritania, which he hopes will pave the way for the holding of free and fair presidential elections next month.

First, Mauritania has nothing to do with Somalia. Most obviously, they are on completely different sides of the continent for one, the people and cultures are different, but most importantly, there is a sprit of reconciliation amongst the major political players even after last year's coup. Mauritania was a beacon of hope after the 2007 elections and hopefully the people of Mauritania will show their resiliency once again.
And at least the US admits to supplying Somalia's transitional government with arms unlike the cowards from Eritrea, Iran, Yemen, etc.

Secretary Ban Ki-moon needs to make more of a effort to settle the Somali war, and reprimand the U.S. government for supplying arms to Somalia!!
