Instead of developing our nation, improving the power generation, raise the standard of living and make live better for people from Niger Delta, most of our leaders are busy looting the treasuries and selling us cheap to these thieves. From the wars in Middle East to the instabilities and poverties in African countries, most of them are linked to the activities of some of these thieves. We know that all of them are only going to Africa for their selfish interests,it is all about stealling Nigerian and African resources. Stealing from Africa (through our ignorant and sefish leaders) to develop their own countries while many of our people are in poverty. Following what happened recently on gas supply between Russia and Europe (via Ukraine), it is clear that Russia had turned oil to political weapon. They only want to have control over Nigerian oil and others to give them more control of the sector globally. I hope African leaders will learn from past and stop selling us cheaply.
The idea for a trans-Sahara pipeline to send Nigerian gas through Algeria to Europe must be a cruel joke. Nigeria needs that gas to make its own electricity. The country is sinking into a morass because its electricity output keeps going down. All newly gathered gas in Nigeria must be used to produce domestic electricity. Second priority must be the West Africa gas pipeline to supply gas to Ghana, Togo and Benin. Then there must be electricity for neighboring countries: Niger, Chad, Cameroon.
Gas for Europe from Nigeria does NOT make sense. Already too much Nigerian gas is going abroad as LNG. Do not make the same mistake again.
