A meeting of a Commonwealth committee on Zimbabwe, which is set to host a roundtable discussion in South Africa next week, could pave the way for the possible readmission of the country into the 54-nation grouping.

Takunya,
You still havent told us all if you still think the CIA invented homosexuality! How are things in the ZANU-PF Propoganda department anyways? Still thinking of ways that you can spin the fact your leader is a thief?
You say "There will never be any commonality between a slave and his master"
So you still consider yourself a slave? Time to move on and get that massive chip off your shoulder dont you think? There havent been slaves for a very very very long time. To keep grasping at that straw is simply rediculous.
As for Zimbabwe withdrawing form the commonwealth, Zimbabwe was actually suspended. Get it right sunshine! None of this nonsense of soul searching! The fact is you were kicked out because you rape and murder and torture your own people!
As for you being a proud nation that will never beg... take a look outside and smell the roses! The country is a begger nation. Has been for a while now. Its dependent on outside help for survival. With so much potential, its pathetic really.
As for "will never allow anyone to tell us how we should contact our affairs in our great nation of DZIMBAHWE."
Didnt you have to run with your tail between your legs to the SADC to get some form of legitimacy in your government after Mugabe rigged it? What a joke you are.
Aaaah so you admit it! You were suspended! All your talk about leaving after soul searching is just lies! Here we go...
"54 countries ...that voted two-to-one to suspend the Great Nation of Zimbabwe" !! Proof of more of your lies!
"NEVER EVER SHALL WE EVER BE A COLONY AGAIN!!"
No sh!t! What are you? A rocket scientist! You've been in control of Zimbabwe for 30 years now and look at the piece of shit you've turned it into!
There goes another full of lies post from Takunya 100% debunked.
Wasnt even difficult.
Awt, the fact is the commonwealth is a dead organization. The only good thing about the commonwealth is "keeping up with the Queen" and preserving the ever fading white colonial relationship. Most African countries will show up and go home, what is all the "buzz" about the commonwealth. What a joke!!!
The non-aligned organization is more important to African states than the commonwealth. My anti-British blood just boils when I hear about the socalled "commonwealh".
If its dead, then dont bother about rejoining... if its not relevant, then join alliances elsewhere. African states dont have to be a part of it if they dont want too, no one is forcing them!
I wont be crying any tears if I dont see Zimbabwe at the next commonwealth games.
Awt;
Zimbabwe has not said it wanted to rejoin the British Queen's grouping and we will never say so and will not be singing "God serve the Queen any time soon".
The people who are constituting themselves into so-called "working groups" are not even Zimbabweans but if there are any Zimbabweans among them then they do not represent me but are just gold diggers looking for filthy lucre.
Take the example of a sellout like Moeletsi Mbeki, he is South African and not Zimbabwean. So how is Zimbabwe craving to rejoin the colonial grouping through Moeletsi? We do not need the Commonwealth and it should not come to us, even through the back door, by using sellouts to entice us into coming to them; we have turned a corner and will never look back, however glittering it may seem.
The other thing you should know is that we were not suspended before we withdrew from the grouping. First things first, when we realized that Obassanjo had sold out, we withdrew and by the time the announcement to suspend us was made we had already withdrawn. You should, therefore, never twist history to suit you and your fellow former colonizers.
We withdrew because we no longer wanted to be associated with criminality - British criminality. The conditions that resulted in us withdrawing have still not changed and so there is no way we can go back or advocate going back to that colonial and racist grouping. Put that into your thick, empty and brainless skull you idiotic moron.
Tokolosh, you are talking out your backside again. A load of crap.
Cde Ndebvu - any thoughts on why Mozambique, which was never a British colony, chose to join the British Commonwealth? Is Mozambique now the biggest sell-out of all time?
Quite amazing i must say, Take Mozambique for instance, they were a portuguese colony( overseas province) but they wanted to be a part of the British commonwealth. Explain that one Tacky.
Zola, at some point the symbolism of being part of the commonwealth will wear out. Lets face it not much has been achieved by the commonwealth the last 15 years. In that same period, the United Kingdom has declined in in world polls of the most admired countries. The British empire is slowly but surely becoming a naked empire.
Phiri you are a joke. You communicate in a British language, drive a car on the right hand side of the road as the British do, you open your parliament as the Brits do, your electrical implements and wirings are that of the British and I wouldn't even be surprised if your first name was British. So what is your "blood boiling" about? Because they do not support Mugabe and will not give you free money? That's all it is and you are fooling no one Well, it is all in your power as you can change it all. Unzip your pants and go back to nature. Look around in your home and remove everything that the British ever introduced you to and stop using their language. See how far you will go. You will be the only one in the bush in nature with the animals. Your blood should be boiling for the thefts and injustices done to your Zimbabweans by Zanu-Pf and Mugabe instead and not just lip-service. The British people have followed your wishes and left you alone and have no desire to help Mugabe keep filling his pockets any longer so stop crying, big baby.
Krjs120, I agree that Zimbabwe is very British in many ways. However, what I said about the commonwealth has nothing to do with Mugabe, because I do not support Mugabe.
It bothers me that Zimbabwe is too British, even at a time that UK is no longer considered a world setter of Standards or laws as it used to be. You just do not want to admit it, the commonwealth is dead and it is not the place that African and Caribbean leaders express themselves openly or discuss their tactics.
You are right, I appreciate my British based education from Zimbabwe!! Nothing to be ashamed about!!
Phiri, "commonwealth" just means an association of nations consisting of Britain and several former British colonies some of which are Ireland, Canada, India, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and others who have willingly opted to join. These are all stable nations who mind their own business and not stupid to cower to Mugabe (except South Africa ) What is your problem then with these nations or did you just not understand what was meant by present day "commonwealth."
Phiri, I think the only reason why the commonwealth is still around is because it is a good reason for athletes of the former colonies + mozambique to compete with each other. Other than that I really see no sense in it at all.
How common is the commonwealth that these idiots are talking about? How common is the British and Zimbabwean wealth? How common is the wealth of a colonizer and that of the colonized? There will never be any commonality between a slave and his master, thus, Zimbabwe has moved on and will NEVER want to again associate with criminality - British criminality.
To talk and continue talking about and attempting to swallow us back into that monster called Commonwealth is to say or suggest we have no brains. I said that we, as a country, have moved on and we have indeed moved on and will not move back an inch and will not have anything to do with the colonial grouping as long as the reason for which we withdrew, in the first place, have not been tackled and settled.
Although we were not happy, from the word go, with the master-servant relationship that existed and still exists between Britain and its former colonies, Zimbabwe did not just walk out of that grouping. It was after serious thoughts and soul searching and serious contemplation of who we are that we finally decided to move out – and out we moved.
We are a proud and dignified people who will NEVER go down on our knees begging. We liberated ourselves through direct confrontation and will never allow anyone to tell us how we should contact our affairs in our great nation of DZIMBAHWE.
How can 54 countries allow themselves to be used by a colonizer, Britain, through the so-called 'Troika' that voted two-to-one to suspend the Great Nation of Zimbabwe because of a bilateral dispute between a former master and a former slave? Has Obasanjo realized that he made a serious blander by voting with former colonizers after being given filthy lucre? If, even in retirement, he has not seen that he sold out big time, how can we go back to be sold yet again by yet another sellout like Ian Khama?
The slave did not want or refused to continue being dominated, enslaved and subjugated by the former master but the 'master' believed he could still dictate terms to the former slave. That was the departure!!! And as long as that is not settled, Zimbabwe will NEVER go back to the not-so-common-a-wealth grouping. Zvema dhisinyongoro VaMugabe ne povo varamba!!
What the ‘master’ failed and still fail to understand is that the former slave had now tasted freedom and would NEVER allow self to be dictated to again. NEVER EVER SHALL WE EVER BE A COLONY AGAIN!! The former master did not realize just as he still does not realize that the wealth of Zimbabwe is for the benefit of Zimbabweans and not commonly owned with the former master.
Thus, we refuse to be told what to do by a brother, African-American like John Carson. Even if they come to us in sheep’s clothes we will still be able to differentiate a sheep from a hyena.
Those constituting themselves into so-called "working groups" can enjoy the money they are getting from the master, especially the sellout Moeletsi Mbeki. They can enjoy the filthy lucre as much as they want and are still receiving it but at the end of the day and at the end of it all, it is Zimbabwe that has to decide whether to rejoin or not.
We would rather stay or stick with SADC, AU, Non-aligned Movement, COMESA, and other regional and international groupings instead of going back to eat the poison we successfully vomited to avoid death.
