About 300,000 Nigerian children die of malaria annually, while the disease also accounts for 30 million clinically diagnosed cases as well as 60 percent out-patients visits, the National Malaria Control Project, Federal Ministry of Health, has said.

Mosquitoes are not a very long-ranged insect. If you clear the breeding grounds that are near human habitation, you will greatly enhance your other efforts. Any blocked drainage or other standing water will do quite well, as will weed infested water, even if flowing. Clean your rivers and lakes of weeds, and your ditches of everything, and you will lick malaria. Ignoring the primary benefit, the money saved in treatment will pay for the job.
