For the bill to be sent, the govt has seen the problems tenants in Lagos are facing, throwing out the bill may not be the answer, proffer solutions to help both sides, both the landlords and tenants are nigerians, most of those in the house have travelled abroad and have seen how easy it is to pay for rented flats. As this bill is not about telling the landords to reduce rents but to make it easy for nigerians to pay for rent houses, is it not true also that the landlords have the intention to help tenants beside making money? how do we use our religion for the benefit of mankind, we should not only see the money side of life, we should also see the compassion side as well. A compromise should be reached in the house to favour both landlords and tenants, say six months to one year instead of starting with the usual 2 years advance payments for tents in Lagos and else where in Nigeria, knowing fully well that housing is a basic human necessity and rights, and as such should not be made too expensive for Nigerians. Even if the govt has been failing to meet the housing needs those who could build commercial houses should see the need to be our brothers keeper, knowing fully well that God will reward you or your family member someday. Thank you

it is so shocking to me to hear reasons why this Bill is not good by elected lawmakers in Lagos State, i am so baffled. Is there no Law that prohibit running someone over with a car ?, Is there no law punish armed robbery, rape ?. Governemnts duty is to reglate, protect and govern, if Government state making excuses that Law will not and cannot be implemented, it is sad. It is only in Nigeria amongst some comity of Nations that still allow its citizens to pay a landlord three years rent at once, this is a country that pays its people once a month, it is sad. Anyway, most of the people to pass this law are landlord themselves, what do you expect, i leave in the United States, you pay one month rent and what is called a security deposit, that, one month renta dnhalf of the rent, when you are about to vacate the premises, your money is given back to you after property inspection, making sure that nothing is destroyed while you reside at the premises, U.S pays people every friday of the week or every two weeks. God Help Nigeria. Lawmakers indeed.
