Nigeria's President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has numerous things going his way. Fighters who threatened to cripple Nigeria's oil production are marching out of the Niger Delta creeks in their thousands. Symbolic white handkerchiefs in their hands, the former militants are surrendering their rifles, bazookas and ammunition.

The article gives a true picture of what is happening in the Nigeria as regards to the ND, but the Ijaws are certainly not the fifth largest ethnic group in Nigeria. After the three major tribes I dont think there is any larger group than the Ijaws, population figures in Nigeria is as sensitive as oil resource control. That is why some states in the sparsely populated northern Nigeria's arid and semi-sahelian belt flaunt dubious figures as their population.
