African governments do not own any land and for them to engage in wholesale selling, leasing to conglomerates will result in a violent backlash they will see most of these entities trhown out of power.Let them cooperate with their pay masters and they will reap a whirl wind that will change the face of the politics of this planet for worse. The African land is not a commodity but a heritage for humanity. The relationship between people and the African land is one in which people have always lived in harmony with other animal species and not to be parceled off and sold as has happened in Europe,North America and Australia because of man's greed. The troubles that happened in Kenya were a direct land issue that was not resolved at independence, in Malagasy we have just seen a president kicked out of power because of the land issue, dare I mention Zimbabwe and South Africa is still to sort out its land issue. Remembering that the Southern African political struggles was about land what foolish governments would contemplate a suicidal act. I feel sorry for those companies that will invest in such an emotional issue. The Somali pirates have provided a blue print on what happens when governments make the mistake of selling the people's birthright. It is unthinkable that a few western influenced leaders would rush to commit a heinous crime of selling the people's birth right. In Africa unlike other continents land can not be bought or sold.
