Welcome back to Kenya! While you were away, alot took place in Kenya. That has contributed alot to our present low spirit. What is happening now? We are hungry, with no water! We are living in one of the most expensive countries in the world; where in even the most basic commodities are unaffordable! we live in a more hostile enviroment, we live in a landless country and so forth. How did we reach here? In the year 2007, a very optimistic contry we were. In January 2008 things had changed. We had turned against each other, killing one another like nothing. This left alot of us in camps, popularly known as IDP camps, i.e, Internationally Downward people. There were no people on our farms, and nobody cared about what we had destroyed. In such a situation, what country can move foward? Two goverments in power! ODM and PNU. How will the taxes come down, if we have to keep all these in power? Kenyans, we need to go back to the drawing board, replan our future and be serious about it. We cant afford to be serious about political games, at the expense of our future and the future of our children.
In an Economy Such as ours, it is difficult to scientifically Model Confidence and its impact on the Economy, but I know it has an Outsize Impact. We were the most optimistic People in the World 2002/2003 and that it was gave us Lift Off which carried us as high as 7.1% just before the Election. We need to re ignite Growth.
The Political Question and dynamic is a whole lot more complex. One senses that the Electorate might well not be for herding in 2012. Consider the Mobile Phone. There were 15,000 10 years ago, there are 17.4m now. Thats all happened in the last decade with a bias towards the last 5. 60% of the Population is under 24. Thats a recipe for dynamic change.
