Sakina Mati is a farmer and community leader in the village of Guidan Batoye, in the Maradi Region of Niger. She began to manage the regeneration of useful trees on her fields 15 years ago together with other women farmers in the village. This is proven success. We must now duplicate this success one village after another. I have read of other projects in Niger, namly the Eden project run by a nonprofit which has made similar inroads. Government and other stakeholders should now become involved in promoting these efforts so that the nation can achieve benefit. Give people the power to change their own lives.
