The decision to give Zimbabwe no more than a slap on the wrist for the human rights abuses which its army has committed on the Marange alluvial diamond fields in the south-east of the country seriously threatens the future of the diamond industry's initiative to avert consumer boycotts of its gemstones.

Why would you wish for a country which is already under strict sanctions to have it's natural resources obsolete. Africa is nothing more but a place with the raw materials you need right? What Namibia did was bold and justified and as far Zimbabwe goes, i am tired of ill-informed reporters who have gone to the extant of even believing the bull shit they write. Honestly, i now wish Comrade Mugabe was really the dictator you claim he is, and he would chase all these stupid boils out of my beloved Zimbabwe and we start afresh. Ross Harvey, is totally out of line. Member states reviewed Zimbabwean issues and decided not to ban diamond mining. In addition Ross ignores that the NGO involved is UK based and the subject mine was owned by a British Company. This IS total hypocrisy at it's best.
There is a conflict of interest. Africa has it's own national interests and sometimes white minority Africans really do not get it. The so called international Governance program in Cape Town South Africa, is so out of touch, as if they are still under aparthied white undemocratic rule. So much rubbish is coming out of Cape Town African studies. They are also furtherst from African states and VERY VERY...WHITE DOMINATED AREA..WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT AFRICA???
And while they at it can some one remind me if there were ever APARTHEID diamonds and gold? If not, why not?

There are rhodies in Zimbabwe claiming to be Zimbabwe citizens. And we are told that Cde Mugabe is "shooting and klling" thousands of his OWN people every day. How come we don't hear every day about at least a thousand rhodies shot dead?
I guess that they are dying like flies but the dim rhodies parading in these blogs want them to die, or they are too traumatized to give us a daily account of each death of their kith and kin.

And presumably their rhodie kids in Zimbabwe - who presumably live like the rest of their compatriots - are also dying from malnutrition and disease brought about by the economic sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by USA/UK/EU axis of evil.
Then, It may be said that UK's Gordon Brown kills his own kith and kin, right? [As if we don't know about whites killing their own during the massacres in Kosovo/Bosnia ..]
Chokora I am talking about a Zimbabwean issue of " blood diamonds." Of all those killings that have occurred at those diamond digging places, how many white "Rhodies" and how many black Zimbabweans have been killed or have you also been killing people from other African countries? So tell me in numbers as to how many of each of those groups of people I mentioned have been killed. Do so and I will admit I was mistaken otherwise you are talking rubbish.
