Hear hear Shannon. I have asked the Australian ambassador to the UN to investigate these allegations twice over the past year and neither request has been acknowledged. The conspriacy to support genocidaires extends to silence. Keep up the pressure for justice.
Why not extend that justice to Innocent Irankunda?
In depth investigation is needed as to how and why this kind of collaboration occurs. Those responsible need to be punished, and punished severely.
The UN has proven, time and time again, to be worthless in protecting civilians in DR Congo. That it is collaborating with the Interahamwe and is supports FARDC, with its long track record of crimes against humanity, is an unforgivable betrayal of the innocent and the international community. The weight of the entire international community needs to be brought to bear here in addressing all of the issues that allow this insanity to continue.
This is so disheartening. There is obviously no one who will act in the interests of the Congolese people, no one worthy of trust ... a sickening reflection of our failed humanity.
