I'd say SA is trying to thread the needle over this issue, but I feel they have made a blunder. The fact that they will not stand up for the rights of white SA farmers who have invested in Zimbabwe, means that their commitment to defending all external SA investments is suspect, whether by black or white investors.

Those farms were previously protected by agreements between the two countries, but now SA has lost their confidence in the justness of defending their own citizens rights and instead adopted a racially oriented position for purely political reasons. What''s to prevent Mugabe from ignoring this agreement, just as he has with other agreements in the past; or most recently, the judgment of the SADC tribunal as well!

Will SA be excluded from the Indigenization Law? I doubt it. That means that SA investors who wish to invest in ZImbabwe must pay a 51% penalty on their businesses. How many businessmen will wish to do that? They expect their government to shield them from such monkey business. Shamefully, the SA government does not care. Perhaps the government should be sued for negligence.

Zimbabwe has wisely defended it's land reform program, otherwise this would have been a mess. Zimbabwe continues to guarantee that food security lies with the Zimbabweanlocal black majority and not white anglo farmers. This policy is in agreement with UN policy of food security!!

Zola, tell me where it says a foreigner like you have a right to dictate land issues in Zimbabwe? Do you pay taxes in Zimbabwe?Do you vote in Zimbabwe?

Or is being British the only passport for everything African?

Zola, certainly you have a birthright to call yourself a Zimbabwean Citizen! But, do you view yourself as such? It is possible for somebody to be born in Zimbabwean and still not view her/himself as a Zimbabwean citizen. This is certainly true of people whose parents are USA, Germany or UK parents with children born in Zimbabwe!! Zimbabwean citizenship is also based on the ancestry of your father’s birthplace (must be in Zimbabwe) or born in Zimbabwe. That means you can be born in the USA or Zambia, and based on ancestry you can also be a Zimbabwean citizen!

The Modern Zimbabwe increasingly makes a distinction between “Rhodesians” meaning whites to the black majority meaning Zimbabweans. There seem to be two countries in one. Most of Rhodesia left when black took over or during Mugabe’s land takeovers. Most commentators (white) could be described as “Rhodesians”.

Your original question posed to me, was rather hyperbolic and for your information KRJS120 such questions are not worth answering!!!!!!

Phiri you are contradicting yourself as you DID answer it. And by the way , is dual citizenship allowed in Zimbabwe? If not then there again you have contradicted yourself.

Ok Phiri, I'll put it to you this way, Me being white, does not make me a Rhodesian, ever since being a young child in Rhodesia, I have never liked being called a Rhodesian because Cecil Rhodes was homosexual and yes he was a bigot. I would rather be named after a Great House of Stone, Dzembawe. Don't paint us all with the same brush, I came from another pot of paint. The whites you don't like have all left, because they didn't want to work the better of the country for everyone instead of just themselves. Yes the black Zimbabweans i fully agree were upset and annoyed with the way they were treated by the whites which left, who started the bullshit, but quite a few whites who left were good guys, it's just that quite a few of the blacks hit the wrong people, so who's to judge, you? me? no, neither of us, only God.

Food security? Are you referring to the 40% of the population that doesn't need to beg other countries for their food? The other 60% are up a creek without a paddle because Mugabe sold it to the Chinese!

DL, that is your usual foolish self. Quoting useless statistics and pretending that there is validity to the numbers!! Who do you think your are kidding? There are extremely few white Rhodesian farmers in Zimbabwe today and the last time they farmed was in 2000!!

The vast food provided to Zimbabweans today is grown by black farmers. I guess this is a chip on your ego, that people in Zimbabwe no longer believe white farmers are the key to food security.

I bet any Zimbabwean reading these blogs would be so annoyed with you the Rhodesians that the love that they have for you and your lot, would be gone!!! White Rhodesian farmers no long farm...They left the country, are dead and increasingly irrelevant!! You are just a batch of old dying men, crying I wish I was back in Zimbabwe!!!! You just rot in your gov't subsidized English ghetto!!!!
