With all my heart.

In the springtime, near an hedge full of intentions, I see the blackbird of a youthful day: over a bridge, near a delicate sadness, with all my heart......

She has left a lot of good music behind, which will last for generations to come. I was introduced to Mariam Makeba by my mother who is a big fan of her, and I too have watched a few concerts of hers and she was marvelous!! May her soul rest in peace!

May you rest in perfect peace sweet Mama Miriam Zenzi Makeba. Your songs soothed, awakened the spirits of many and made them open their eyes to the suffering of Black South Africans. Your beauty radiated from deep within and shone brightly to illuminate the world in a class of its own. They were freedom songs filled with stories that will transcend time. Mama Miriam Zenzi Makeba your spirit has taken flight but your songs will live on forever!

Miriam Makeba lived her life to the last moment, doing what she loved. Her passing on is a loss to the world, as one who used her gifted voice, music and life for social activism and justice. It is my hope that artists, musicians and people across the world will use their gifts, influence and power to mobilise movements and take personal involvement in being the change that we wish to see in our worlds arrange.

Blessings and 'alutta continua', "la lucha continua," the struggle continues. Shalom, Shanti, La Paz sea contigo, As-Salamu'Alaykum - Peace be upon you!
