Enugu State in Nigeria will serve as the co-ordinating centre for the disarmament and demobilisation of militants. President Umaru Yar'Adua has proposed 60 days of "amnesty and unconditional pardon" for militants in the Niger Delta in an effort to end the crisis in the region which has literally paralysed the oil sector.
