Blogging TED: Introducing Africa 2.0
TED, Day 1
The opening day of TED Global was a full one. The morning session included a heated debate between Ugandan jounalist and Stanford University fellow Andrew Mwenda (right) and celebrity activist Bono, while the afternoon session featured clips from Nigerian filmmaker Newton Aduaka.
TED, Day 2
The second day of TED explored African markets, economies, and the environment. Notable speakers included Balancing Act editor Russel Southwood, Ghanaian economist George Ayittey (left), and Jane Goodall.
TED, Day 3
Day three of TED brought together innovators and scientists working on solutions to African problems. Bola Olabisi (right) introduced the work of African female inventors, and Lisa Goldman discussed tools to fight malaria.
TED, Day 4
Day four of TED featured an unusual mix of speakers, including, among others, Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete (left), Google.org's Larry Brilliant, and Pulitzer-prize winning Nigerian journalist Dele Olojede. Ethan Zuckerman reflects on the close of the conference.
