49 countries have entered the qualification series for the next African Nations Cup, to be hosted by Tunisia in 2004. The Confederation of African Football announced the draw at the 2002 CAF finals in Mali. Entrants have been divided into 13 league groups, with ten groups comprising of four teams, and three groups with three teams each. |
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroun yesterday in Bamako defended the African Nations Cup they won two years ago to join Egypt and Ghana as the only countries that have won the title four times. They also went into the record books as the third country after Egypt (1959) and Ghana (1965) that has won the trophy back to back. |
