MONROVIA, Liberia (PANA) — Liberian President Charles Taylor Thursday
appealed to west African leaders to intervene militarily to restore
peace in troubled Guinea-Bissau.
"Liberia will support the dispatch of an Ecomog (West African Peace
Monitoring Group) intervention force to Guinea-Bissau to restore peace
and tranquility to the people of that sister republic," Taylor said in a
statement issued Thursday in Monrovia.
