Guinea: Ministers Endorse Ecomog Intervention In Guinea-Bissau

ABIDJAN, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) — The West African Peace Monitoring Force (Ecomog), would intervene in Guinea-Bissau, if dialogue and diplomacy fail to restore peace in the country, Ecowas foreign ministers said at the end of their 18th security meeting in Abidjan on Saturday.

However, they stressed in a final communique issued on Saturday, the move would depend on the preparedness of member countries to contribute extra troops to the present contingent of Ecowas (Economic Community of West African States).
