Addis Ababa — Taxi drivers in Addis Ababa went on strike on
Wednesday, July 8, 1998 in protest against new traffic regulations put
into operation by the Transport and Communications Bureau of the Addis
Ababa Administration as of the same date.
The regulations identify several categories of traffic offences,
matching them with their respective fines. The offences and their
respective penalties are as follows ("Addis Zemen", Sene 27, 1990 E.C.)
