HARARE, Zimbabwe (PANA) — Zimbabwe's national soccer team, needing a
win to redeem lost pride after a home defeat to South Africa two
weeks ago, Sunday hammered lowly-rated Seychelles 5-0 on to move to
the next round of the African Cup of Nations contest.
The game was switched from the capital Harare to the second city of
Bulawayo because FIFA has banned Zimbabwe from using the National
Sports Stadium. The ban follows crowd trouble during the match
against South Africa in which 13 fans died in a stampede following
tear-gassing by the police.
