Reunionese side, St. Louisienne have knocked out former African champions, Forces Armee Royal of Morocco for a place in the semi-finals of the Cup Winners Cup after a penalty shoot-out yesterday.
St. Louisienne booked their passage into the last four, winning the shoot-out 5-4, after both sides drew 1-1 in both legs.
Mohamed Bounbat delayed the celebration for the Indian Ocean islanders with an equaliser six minutes to the final whistle.
Josephson Rina Rasolosoa had opened the scoring for the home side after 35 minutes.
St. Louisienne will clash with Egyptian side, Zamalek in Cairo mid-October for the first-leg and the return semi-final two weeks later.
Zamalek secured their place despite the 1-0 defeat to Senegalese side, Ndiambour. Souleymane Niang scored the only goal of the match three minutes to the interval, but the Egyptians qualify on the strength of their 3-1 win in Cairo a fortnight ago.
Al-Ittihad of Libya also lost by the same 1-0 score in Niamey in the return-leg against Jeunesse Sportive Tenere of Niger, but could still play in the semi-finals next month. Al-Ittihad made the difference after their 5-2 win in the first-leg in El Jelatte.
