Nigeria Beats Zambia In Nations Cup

Lagos — Nigeria Saturday beat Zambia 1-0 in a qualifying match for the 2002 African Nations Cup in Mali.

The goal was scored by Victor Agali in the 39th minute, after he drove a powerful shot from the edge of the 18-yard box.

A soccer fan was shot dead by the police before the match, as fans struggled for promotional items in the National Stadium venue of the match.
