Harare — Zimbabwe senior soccer team coach Misheck Marimo is set to continue from where he left when the Warriors take on the Crocodiles of Lesotho in the African Cup of Nations group six qualifiers at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo this Sunday.
Marimo was at the helm when Zimbabwe lifted the Cosafa Castle Cup last year with an emphatic 6-0 aggregate against the same opponents. Marimo although optimistic, pointed out that this would be a different game altogether.
"We are going to approach this game without the influence of the past victories and guard against complacence because we are aware that the Crocodiles are looking forward to upsetting us," Marimo said.
Marimo's squad has strong characters capable of inspiring confidence in the Warriors. He can easily come up with a potent strike force in the Cyprus based duo of Joel Luphahla and soccer star of the year Zenzo Moyo. He also has at his disposal competitive strikers Benjamin Mwaruwari and Alois Bunjira.
Lesotho come to this game aware that they need to start climbing up the ladder now to increase their chances of going to Mali for the finals in 2002.
Their performance in other preliminary matches are a clear testimony that they should not be taken lightly. Lesotho has vastly improved since their loss to Zimbabwe and have managed to hold group favourites Ghana (3-3).
