Nigeria: Robbers Sack Police Barracks

Lagos — Dare-devil armed robbers have resumed their onslaught on police barracks in Lagos State. P.M.News investigations revealed that few months after armed bandits raided officers barracks in Ikeja, they have commenced their fresh war on police barracks. The barracks recently raided by bandits include the Police Barracks at Falomo, Obalende, Okesuna and Iponri.

Policemen residing in the affected barracks confirmed the attacks, saying they lost over N2.5 million worth of properties to the bandits. They also disclosed that the nature of crimes committed in the barracks ranges from burglary to outright robbery.

At Iponri, some of the officers lost cash and property estimated at N1.5 million. At Okesuna, some of the victims who spoke with P.M.News said they lost their property at day time through burglary when they have gone to work.

Meanwhile, three children of senior police officers have been arrested for interrogation over criminal activities at Okesuna barracks. P.M.News learnt they are being interrogated at the Lion Building Station. Their guardians and parents, according to sources, are making moves to secure bail for the detainees.
