Sierra Leone: 13,000 SLAs For Sierra Leone

Freetown — The British Military Spokesperson in Sierra Leone Major Jaicee has disclosed to journalists at the weekly State House press briefing over the weekend that the British Defence Secretary, Jeff Hoon had told the British Parliament that they will assist the government of Sierra Leone to train a total number of 13,000 Sierra Leone soldiers up to December this year.

Major Jaicee said that so far the British training team has trained over 5,000 battle-tested SLAs and while promising another intensive training for more SLAs at the Benguema Training Centre.

The Spokeswoman also assured that battle-tested SLAs are more than ready to take upon the RUF in the even of any attack and added that her government will assist the Sierra Leone by providing military and logistical support to bring the ten years of senseless war to an end.
