Kenya: Thugs Steal Communion Wine

14 February 2001

Nairobi, Kenya — The congregation of a Kenyan Church in the Central province area of Nyeri was stunned last Sunday to discover that dare-devil thieves had broken into the Priest's office and stolen the Communion Wine.

Police report in Nairobi said Wednesday that the thugs broke into the PCEA Kiaguthi Church, more than 210-km north of the Kenyan capital Nairobi, and escaped with 12 bottles of the holy wine reserved for the service.

Apart from the wine, the thugs also made away with some equipment including a guitar, an amplifier and a gas cylinder, the report added.
