Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — Over 200 members of the Ethiopian Basu ethnic group have just converted to Islam after some the efforts deployed in this regard by the African Muslim Agency (AMA), a Kuwaiti NGO.
The Basu have 3,000 members whom the AMA has been trying to convince to embrace the Muslim religion, the Islamic Information Agency (IINA) said without giving details on the date of the conversion or the original faith of the converts.
IINA also said that 14 Malagasy villages also became Muslims through the work of the AMA in Madagascar.
