Ghana/Nigeria: Youth Team Trounces Nigeria 4-1

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — The Ghanaian under-20 national team Thursday night drubbed their Nigerian opponents 4-1 in their second group B match of the ongoing 12th African youth championship at the Addis Ababa Stadium.

The Ghanaians showed skill as defending champions against Nigeria, to the delight of some 20,000 spectators, mostly Ethiopians rooting for them.

Half-time score was 3-0, with the Nigerians proving no match for their archrivals.

Although the Nigerians played much better during the second half, they missed a chance to score from the penalty spot with three minutes after resumption.

Nigeria's lone goal came in the 68th minute.

Three minutes later, Ghana made it 4-1, for a victory that puts the Ghanaians on top of their group with six points from two matches.

The three other group members, Angola, Mali and Nigeria, each has one point.
