Nigeria: Shell, MOSOP Break Truce

Lagos — The peace agreement reached between the Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP) and Shell Petroleum Development Company at the Port Harcourt sitting of Oputa Panel has broken down as representatives of Ogoni are now accusing SPDC of insincerity.

Leader of MOSOP, Mr. Ledum Mitee speaking at Tuesday's sitting alleged that SPDC, represented by its Managing Director, Mr. Ron M. Van Den Berg, is only playing to the gallery by insisting on reconciliation whereas their action points to the contrary.
