Nigeria: Alawiye-King Condemns Jos Religious Intolerance, Attack On US

Lagos — The chief coordinator of the committee of concerned Lagos Islanders (CCLI), Mr. Wale Alawiye-King has condemned the recent religious clash in Jos, and the terrorist attacks in the United states.

Speaking at the conclusion of the 1st Wale Alawiye-King snooker competition held recently at Isale Eko, Lagos Island, Alawiye-King described both acts as grossly inhumane which should be totally frowned at by every peace - loving individual in the world.

In his words: "These are crimes against humanity and should be condemned by the entire human race". He further advised that people should be more tolerant as this is the fundamental principle of every religion. "People should learn to co-exist in peace and harmony because it is the bedrock of good democracy." He asserted.

Alawiye-King who is also the Director of community Relations with Nigerian-American 'Muslim Integrated community NAMIC Brooklyn, New York also used the occasion to call on all Islamic scholars to continue to let the world know that Islam is a religion of peace and tranquility and in no way does Islam encourage violence against non muslims.

He concluded by urging every Nigerian to remember those who lost their lives in prayers.
