Addis Ababa — The number of Ethiopians confirmed dead in the September 11 terrorist attack in the US has now reached three with an Ethiopian by the name Jemal Legesse recently joining the list. Details about Jemal could not be available.
Last week, an Ethiopian, Eskedar Melaku had been confirmed dead. Born in Addis Ababa in 1969, Eskedar was a graduate of the Queens College in New York. She was in her office in the north tower of the World Trade Center when the first plane crashed.
Dr. Yeneneh Betru was the first Ethiopian to be announced dead in the week of the terrorist carnage. The Ethiopian physician was on flight 77. He was Director of medical Affairs for IPC, a north Hollywood based company that manages hospital services.
