Addis Ababa — The Ethiopian Airlines said there have been inaccurate newspaper reports about its flights to America after the September 11 terrorist attack on that country. "EAL had cancelled only two flights in connection with the attack but passengers were able to use the following flights. The safety and security at EAL has regularly been evaluated by the American Federal Aviation Authority and the Airlines has been able to immediately resume its service as the security was dependable," EAL said in a statement.
The statement said the Airlines reduced its flights to America from three to two (on Fridays and Sundays) not because of the attack on the U.S. but in line with its flight schedule formulated in March. It said the Airlines have always been revising its programs depending on the number of travelers in different seasons and that when there are many travelers it could make the number of its weekly flights three or four.
The Airlines said it is providing efficient and dependable service as usual.
