Uganda: Kampala Fears War, Wants UK Minister Short to Help

Mounting fears in the top Ugandan military and security establishment that Rwanda is preparing for war, have forced Kampala to request the British government to allow the country increase military expenditure in order to "counter possible aggression," Sunday Monitor has learnt.

Information available to Sunday Monitor indicates that State House and top UPDF leadership had requested for funds to "counter possible aggression from Rwanda", Kampala has not provided any evidence to back up the intelligence claims hence the British reluctance to approve the request for increased defence spending.
