Zambia: Mumba Calls for Lusaka's Protection From Forces of Evil

Lusaka — PUT on your full amour to protect the country against all forces of evil, National Citizens Coalition (NCC) presidential candidate Pastor Nevers Mumba has called on the three church mother bodies.

Addressing a meeting in Chirundu yesterday, Pastor Mumba said it could not be taken for granted that the fight was not between political parties alone but between good and evil also.

Pastor Mumba urged the Christian denominations, including the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia, the Catholic Secretariat and the Christian Council of Zambia, not to sit down and wait for God to deliver the Zambian people but wage a war against all forces of evil.

He said blessings for Zambia squarely depended on godly leadership. Pastor Mumba, who declared war on the ungodly, said the church should declare a fight of faith.

He added that his party, despite being called names, was determined to fight evil. Pastor Mumba said the lord had given him a big burden until victory was certain. He urged people countrywide, regardless of political affiliation, to come together and fight evil on behalf of the children in the country.

Pastor Mumba also deplored the type of campaign tactics where people were easily being manipulated by money flashing leaders whom he said did not care about the welfare of the people.

Citing problems like drug trafficking, prostitution and stealing tax payers' money, Pastor Mumba said the challenges facing the country at the moment needed spiritual interference.

He said Zambians should vote for leaders with moral values and integrity to form the next government that will fight for the citizen's rights. Pastor Mumba said if the church failed to help rebuild the country, then it will never come out of its economic ills. He said Zambians, especially the church, should open their eyes.

Pastor Mumba said there was no eleventh hour at a critical moment like this when a good leadership was needed to uphold good governance.
