Nigeria: Devnet Canvasses Reprieve for the Sokoto Adultress

As the world, the international human rights community, NGOs in Nigeria and women's advocacy groups watch to see the outcome of Mrs Safiya Tungar-Tudu's case, DevNet, a development information NGO made a frantic call on the Federal Government and the Sokoto State Government to speedily intervene and save Safiya from death by stoning.

Safiya, a mother of four children is currently sentenced to death by stoning by the Sokoto Sharia Upper Court on account of adultery.
