Zimbabwe: Avon Comes to Harare

IT is good news for the beauty-conscious woman as Avon, an American-based beauty company, has launched its products in Zimbabwe that will be distributed at leading departmental shops and selected pharmacies.

A spokesperson for the company, Ms Blessing Muzvongi, said yesterday the products were of high quality, exclusive and reasonably priced.

The products range from perfumes, makeup, skin care, mascara and these also include products for the male clients.

"Avon caters for both black and white skinned people and the most popular products are makeup and fragrances," said Ms Muzvongi.

A survey around cosmetic outlets revealed that the price of most fragrances had shot beyond reach. A 50 ml of some popular fragrance now cost a cool $31 000, but you can get a good fragrance from Avon for only $9 200.

The company will also hold demonstrations at these outlets to ensure customers buy the correct products for their type of skin. South Africa is currently Avon distributor for Africa.
