Kenya: Mboya Son Launches New Political Party

Another political party was launched on Wednesday. The Social Party for the Advancement and Reforms-Kenya (Spark), was launched at the Professional Centre in Nairobi.

Luke Mboya, the youngest son of former Economic Minister, the late Tom Mboya, is the National Co-ordinator, William Okoth chairman and Abdi Sheikh secretary.

During the launch, Okoth said they are in partnership with some MPs who are working closely with the party.

"We are discussing with very many MPs who have been part and parcel of the party," said Okoth.

Mboya, a businessman, said the party which was registered in 1999, will sponsor both Civic and Parliamentary candidates.
