"THE Eagles are not old. They are still the best we have around. Even if you bring a new coach to handle the team for the World Cup, he will deal with them. They are simply the best we have for now," Mike Itamuagbor, boss of Padmozi said.

Itamuagbor who saw it all in Bamako, Mali tells Sports Vanguard that people calling the players 'tired' legs are insulting their personage.

"Tell me who is old? How old are they? I can tell you that most of them so-called 'young' players cannot do as much as the present crop of players.

"I've watched them in training. When you pair the younger players with their more experienced counterparts, they are nowhere. They cannot take pressure like their older colleagues. We should stop this tired legs stuff," Itamuagbor said.

He noted that at the World Cup level, the Nigerian team rank among the very best due to the level of experience and exposure of the players.

"It will surprise you to know that the Super Eagles are well respected and are noted as the only World Cup team by noted soccer experts. What we need to do to get the very best from them is organisation. If and when we get the right, the Eagles will soar high."

Itamuagbor's Padmozi is official marketing firm of the N.A.. It brokered the N40 million sponsorship package with Vexen Enterprises - core investor of National Oil - for the Super Eagles bonuses in the Mali 2002 Nations Cup final.(ACONS)
