GOVERNOR Chimaroke Nnamani of Enugu state says he is not worried by the National Media Tour Award which placed the state in the 12th position.
Nnamani told newsmen shortly after his arrival from a three-week vacation in the U.S, that the greatest award was the award of the people of the state on what they see on the streets of the state.
"My greatest award is when people travel on the roads built by my administration, switch on their lights and drink water from water pumps.
These are more important to me", he said.
The governor said that the greatest award was that the people recognised that the state was home to one of the three law schools in the country built by his administration and that more importantly was the democracy dividends which the present administration in the state had made available to the people.
Commenting on cultism in higher institutions in the state, Nnamani condemned the wanton killings by cult members in the institutions and gave the assurance that the state police command and security agencies would be up to their responsibilities to stem crime in the state.
He said that the state would move faster to complete on-going projects, while those awarded, including the Achi-Oji River roads, Ette-Ogurute-Ibagwa-Nsukka roads would start immediately.
He commended his deputy, Chief Okechukwu Itanyi, for taking care of the state during his vacation, saying he could not have a better deputy.
