Zambia: Christians Challenged to Unite

THE Christian Council of Zambia in Chongwe has challenged all Christians to unite and work together to uplift the church regardless of which denomination they belong to.

Secretary for district church council a Mrs Ngulube told Christians to work together in developmental matters in the church saying they were all children of one Father.

Mrs Ngulube said this at Stan Chibele Catholic Hall in Chongwe during the World Day of Prayers attended by different churches whose theme was "Challenged to Reconcile."

Blessing the occasion, Chongwe Parish assistant Father Edwin Mumba echoed the call by Mrs Ngulube for churches to unite and work as children of one God.

He urged church members to extend unity to their communities, homes and families.

Father Mumba told churches not to laugh at each other saying their job was there to conquer Satan on earth, calling for such gatherings to be extended to priests, pastors and other church leaders to plan jointly how to develop.

Earlier, Rosaria Mulenga of the Catholic church urged Christians to live as Christ's ambassadors by uniting His people through reconciliation to God.

And Mrs Ngulube urged women in Chongwe to participate in Women's week activities and celebrations which started on Sunday to March 8.

Chongwe women cleaned surroundings at selected premises like the rural health centre to promote a clean environment.
