South Africa: State Invites Bids for ITs M-Cell Stake

Johannesburg — GOVERNMENT has injected new life into market hopes of a Telkom listing this year, issuing an invitation for local and international companies to bid for its 24,5% stake in M-Cell.

This marks the end of a phased approach to the sale of the M-Cell stake, 4,5% of which is housed with Transnet and the remainder with passive Dutch investor Ice Finance.
