Cape Town — A FREAK wave in Table Bay was blamed for tipping 28 loaded containers
into the sea after it hit an anchored ship, causing a major shipping
hazard today.
The containers, some of which are loaded with cotton, were still
floating just below the surface of the water in the bay, but a heavy
swell was making life difficult for salvors working to recover them.
