Lagos — The police in Lagos are now conducting serious investigations into a memorandum of understanding allegedly signed by a pastor of a popular church with robbers.
P.M. News sources at the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), Adeniji-Adele Police Station, revealed that Pastor Gabriel Samuel Ejiyemi Asolo of Christ Followers Church, a popular church situated in Majidun, Ikorodu entered into an agreement with suspected robbers in the area According to the sources, the pastor, out of fear of his church being attacked by robbers in 1991, had an understanding with the suspected robbers to be paying them N60,000 weekly to protect the church against attack by them.
P.M.News also gathered that one Mr. Segun Wenuda, who claimed to be in charge of armed robbers in the area, was engaged by the pastor to do the job.
Sources further disclosed that Segun Wemida has since 1991 collected money estimated at N34 million from the pastor.
