Zimbabwe: Zimbank Launches Short Term Insurance Products

8 July 2002

Zimbank, in partnership with Heritage Insurance Company, has launched seven insurance products set to benefit its varied clientele.

The short term insurance products range from private vehicles insurance covers, homes and household goods covers, personal effects, accidents, funerals and even to golfers.

Launching the products recently, Zimbank assurance products manager, Ms Tafadzwa Nyanzunda said Zimbank had negotiated the best premium rates on the market for the seven insurance products.

Ms Nyanzunda said there was a conversion option for those who wanted to move their existing policies to Zimbank assurance.

Zimbank, would also be offering a funeral assurance policy in partnership with Mashfords and Moonlight Funeral Assurance and Services.

Ms Nyanzunda said Zimbank assurance is available at any branch of Zimbank. She said to benefit from the policies one has to be an account holder.

House insurance covers the house against loss, damage or destruction.

The household policy insures the contents of the house, and the all risk policy covers personal belongings and valuables.

The personal accident policy covers the policy holder and their family in the event of bodily injury through violence or accidents. The policy also provides cover in the event of death or permanent or temporary disability.

The policy has a provision for medical expenses not met by a medical aid society and covers insect or snake bites and exposure to toxic fumes.

The funeral assurance policy provides a choice of coverage for the policy holder and spouses, and other dependents can be added for an additional cost.
