The number of people who take refugee at Lacor Hospital has now risen to 33,517 from 27,520 over the weekend.

The hospital administration does a head count every morning and evening to get the actual number of the refugees.

Influx of the rebels in the hospital follows persistent rebel raids in Gulu and nearby villages forcing the people to look for protection in the hospital compound.

The hospital administrator Angello Banya said the hospital faces imminent outbreak of disease following the massive influx of the refugees at the hospital.

"Toilet facilities and water are the major necessities lacking in the hospital," Banya said.

Banya said the hospital July 16 submitted an estimate report to the RDC Max Omeda recommending immediate construction for at least pit latrines and shelter.
