JOSEPH Kony's LRA rebels and the UPDF patrol soldiers exchanged fire in Gulu Municipality on Tuesday, a day after the army commander, Maj. gen. James Kazini, arrived at Gulu barracks.
Gunfire rocked Kabedo-Opong, Eriyaga and Laliya in the municipality about one to two kilometres from the UPDF fourth division barracks.
Residents said about 50 rebels burnt down grass-thatched huts and abducted people.
