Nigeria: Family of Slain Airforce Officer Drags IG to Court

FAMILY of slain Airforce Officer, Flight Sgt Augustine Ogbolu yesterday dragged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Tafa Balogun to court, claiming N4 million over alleged extra-judicial killing of their son (Augustine) by men of the Ondo State police command on April 7, this year.

Their contention in the suit pending before a Federal High Court, Akure was that the police lacked the constitutional power to summarily execute any accused person, notwithstanding the gravity of allegations levelled against him.
