Uganda: Army Denies Kony Report

THE Army has denied yesterday's report in the Monitor newspaper that some UPDF officers had been captured by the LRA rebels and paraded before the Acholi religious leaders during their peace talks with the rebels.

"I would like to categorically state on behalf of the regular UPDf officers and men that there is no UPDF officer/man under terrorist Kony's detention that could have been paraded to the Acholi religious group peace initiative officials," the army spokesman, Maj. Shaban Bantariza, said last evening.
