THE UPDF have tightened security on the Democratic Republic of Congo border following clashes between two Congolese rebel factions in Bunia and Beni.
The commander of the 507 brigade that oversees the border, Lt. Col. Dura Mawa, said the soldiers were on full alert to prevent the clashes from spreading or causing any harm to the people at the border.
"Our troops at the borderlines are watching the situation at a close range and fully prepared to repulse any infiltration," Mawa told The New Vision on Monday.
